Video game giant YouTube has removed a music clip from its YouTube channel after it was flagged as “offensive” to Islam.
The clip, which features a man in an Islamic robe, was flagged on Friday by users of the popular video sharing website after it appeared online.
YouTube’s YouTube Music Manager said it took down the clip because it violates the company’s policy against content that incites violence.
The video shows a man performing a Muslim prayer in the United Arab Emirates, where it was created by rapper Christian Smith.
YouTube said it removed the clip in a matter of hours and that it was not immediately clear why it took so long to do so.
The video was removed from YouTube on Saturday.
The Muslim-majority nation of Qatar has a population of more than 20 million people.
