The Hamilton Christmas Music Radio station will soon debut.
The station is named After Christmas in honour of the famous holiday song.
The song is written by the late Hamilton composer Richard Strauss, who also wrote the theme song to Disney’s Frozen.
The Hamilton Folk Festival was founded in the early 20th century, and has produced some of the most popular Christmas music albums.
This is the first time that the station will be dedicated to a Christmas song.
“It’s such a privilege to be able to collaborate with the Hamilton Folk Music Festival,” said Chris Beattie, President of The Hamilton Festivals.
“The festival is one of the best in the country and this new station is sure to be an incredible addition to our lineup.”
The station will also be hosted by Grammy-nominated Canadian composer Ben Hennig.
The first episode of the station is set to be broadcast in February.
“This station is a celebration of the Christmas season and a celebration for Hamilton and Hamiltonians,” said Beatties Executive Producer, Kevin Schumacher.
“There are so many great Christmas tunes being played in Hamilton right now that we couldn’t be more excited to have this station dedicated to these Christmas songs.”
The program will be available in both English and French.
The original program, which started as a weekly event in 2005, has been downloaded more than 1.2 million times.
